Radiation Therapy

The delivery of radioactive energy to the prostate is a proven curative therapy for prostate cancer. Different types of radiation exist, namely external-beam or "internal" radiation (brachytherapy). Any patient desiring radiation therapy would need to see a radiation oncologist in consultation. We work closely with the William Beaumont Hospital department of Radiation Oncology to provide the most up-to-date radiation treatments available like high-dose rate (HDR) brachytherapy and intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT).
