Robotic sacrocolpopexy
Female pelvic organ prolapse can be treated surgically through a traditional abdominal incision or with a minimally invasive robotic technique. The most common abdominal procedure for prolapse is a sacrocolpopexy – securing the vaginal vault to the sacrum with a permanent mesh. This procedure has been performed for decades through a traditional incision and is considered the “gold-standard” to which other procedures are compared. The success rates are up to 95%. Robotic surgery is an evolution of laparoscopic surgery and has the advantages of less blood loss, shorter hospital stay and a shorter recovery period. We offer this surgery done robotically which recreates the “gold-standard” with the advantages of minimally invasive surgery.
