Biography

Penina received her Bachelor of Arts in Behavioral Sciences from Mercy College in 2012 and subsequently obtained her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from University of Detroit Mercy in 2023. Penina has been a certified member of the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants since graduation.

 

She is a member of the American Urological Association as well as the American Academy of Physician Associates. She is affiliated with both Corewell Health Beaumont Troy Hospital and Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital. 

 

Prior to her transition into healthcare, Penina accumulated eight years of experience in both mainstream and special education. She utilizes this background to enhance her understanding of her patients placing a strong emphasis on personalized care and fostering open communication with each individual. 

 

Penina sees patients for general urologic care including but not limited to benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), urinary retention, catheter care, overactive bladder (OAB), urinary tract infections, hematuria evaluation, kidney stones, and erectile dysfunction. She also has a special interest in urologic oncology, specifically prostate cancer and bladder cancer. 

 

She works closely with the urologists at Comprehensive Urology to provide the best care for each individual patient. 

 

Outside of her professional commitments, Penina enjoys spending time with her son, volunteering within the community, participating in outdoor activities, cooking, and engaging in DIY home projects.
